No Erasmus Mundus scholarship will be available for this campaign

European Master of Science

in Nuclear Fusion
and Engineering Physics

The European Master of Science in Nuclear Fusion and Engineering Physics (FUSION-EP) is a two-year Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree (EMJMD) funded by the European Union. Focusing on the physics and technology of nuclear fusion as an energy source, it offers research-oriented education in engineering physics, offered by a consortium of eight European universities.

The application campaign is open!

You can now apply for the programme to start in the autumn of 2025! Check out the application information, including eligibility criteria, then head for the application platform using the button below. The application platform will remain open until Feb. 15, 2025.

NEW: From the next academic year, the two tracks - physics or engineering - are available from the first master year (M1). Each track will be taught on a different M1 site.

NB: Erasmus Mundus scholarships will not be available for students starting in autumn 2025.

News

  • Our mobility scheme evolves

To improve the curriculum in both the engineering and the physics tracks, we are changing the mobility scheme. Each of the two M1 study sites will specialise in one track. In M2, the students will be distributed over five different sites.

  • NEW STUDENT COHORT STARTING IN SEPTEMBER 2024

A new cohort of students has been selected to start their studies in FUSION-EP in September 2024. We wish them a lot of success!

  • FUSION TECHNOLOGY TEXTBOOK

A new textbook "Fundamentals of Magnetic Fusion Technology" has just been published by the IAEA. The editor is the founding father of the FUSION-EP programme, Prof. Guido Van Oost. The book can be downloaded or ordered via the button below.

  • FUSENET MASTER EVENT

On Nov. 23, 2023, the FuseNet Organization held its annual online Master Event. Master students, starting or graduating, were invited to meet the community and learn more about the fusion field.
